MicroStrategy Unveils Bitcoin Banking Index as Institutional Adoption Reaches 32%
MicroStrategy, now Strategy, launched a Bitcoin Banking Adoption Index to gauge how deeply major financial institutions have integrated Bitcoin-related services. The index scores 25 banks across trading, custody, spot Bitcoin ETF offerings, stablecoin exposure, lending, and executive support, with overall adoption at 32%. Fidelity led the ranking at 71%, while major U.S. banks such as BNY, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup clustered around the mid-40% to low-40% range. European lenders were mostly in the mid-30s, and some Japanese and Canadian banks lagged near 13%, underscoring uneven global uptake. The report is directionally supportive for Bitcoin because it highlights accelerating institutional infrastructure and broader banking participation, but it is still early-stage adoption rather than full-scale integration. Bitcoin itself was trading near $61,900 and down more than 3% on the day, so the article is more about long-term institutional adoption than immediate price action.
