Microsoft venture arm backs AI startups and global infrastructure

Microsoft’s corporate venture arm M12 and startup programs are intensifying support for AI builders, positioning the company as a central investor and technical partner for early-stage AI and enterprise software firms. Through accelerators like the Microsoft AI Tech Accelerator Community and Microsoft for Startups, the firm provides mentoring, cloud credits and go-to-market support. Separately, Microsoft is committing large-scale infrastructure spending—$30 billion in the U.K. (2025–2028) and a planned $50 billion by 2030 for the Global South—aimed at expanding cloud and AI capacity.
