Microsoft Unveils AI System To Automatically Detect And Fix Cloud Security Risks
Microsoft announced an internal multi-agent AI system built under its Secure Future Initiative to automatically detect and help remediate cloud security weaknesses across its infrastructure. The system goes beyond code scanning, analyzing identity settings, network configurations, runtime environments, and interactions across cloud resources to uncover cross-domain risks that traditional tools may miss. Microsoft says the approach has cut reviews from weeks to hours and is already being used to harden its production environment. The company reported that more than 90% of AI-generated findings reviewed by engineers were confirmed as real issues. While the system is not a customer product, Microsoft said the lessons learned could inform future security offerings. The news is modestly supportive for Microsoft’s long-term cloud and security positioning, reinforcing its AI leadership and potentially boosting confidence in Azure-related security capabilities.
