Microsoft Revamps Enterprise Copilot With Code Generation and Autonomous Agentic AI Tools

Microsoft has updated its Copilot enterprise application by embedding core Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint directly into the interface alongside new code-generation and workflow tools. The overhaul introduces 'Code', which allows software creation via natural language prompts, and 'Autopilot', an autonomous AI coworker agent with enterprise directory identity and access controls. Microsoft is also introducing usage-based consumption pricing alongside its $30 monthly subscription to accelerate corporate adoption, as fewer than 7% of its 450 million commercial Office 365 seats currently license the AI add-on.
