Microsoft Forms Xbox Media Division XP to Adapt Game Franchises for Film and TV
Microsoft Corporation has established a dedicated media division named 'XP' (Experience Points) within its Xbox business to adapt and monetize its video game intellectual property across film, television, merchandise, and live entertainment. The unit centralizes cross-media operations previously run by separate studios and is led by newly appointed President Kayleen Walters. Former Meta executive Maria Angelidou-Smith was named CEO of Mojang and Minecraft. The move builds on the success of the Fallout television adaptation and includes plans for a Call of Duty film, a Diablo Netflix series, and a 2027 London Minecraft attraction.
