Microsoft EVP Yusuf Mehdi to Exit After Final Year Through June 2027

On May 21, 2026, Microsoft confirmed that 35-year veteran Yusuf Mehdi will leave after the next fiscal year ending June 30, 2027. The EVP and consumer CMO, who oversees Windows, Surface, Copilot, Microsoft 365 consumer and Bing, said he will stay fully engaged to help reimagine Windows, grow Microsoft 365 and advance the One Copilot vision. The orderly, one-year wind-down forms part of CEO Satya Nadella’s broader AI-focused reorganization and is expected to cause only modest near-term disruption to product and marketing strategy.
