Michael Saylor says all major US banks seek Bitcoin advice

Michael Saylor told Bitcoin MENA 2025 that every major U.S. bank has sought his advice on Bitcoin in the past six months, naming BNY Mellon, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, JPMorgan and Citi. He said eight of the top 10 U.S. banks are issuing credit products backed by Bitcoin or Bitcoin-related instruments (including products tied to BlackRock’s IBIT ETF). Saylor expects Wells Fargo and Citi to roll out custody services in 2026, enabling banks to offer Bitcoin-backed loans and lines of credit. The article argues that bank custody and credit could unlock substantial institutional capital by allowing Bitcoin to be used as collateral, changing tax and portfolio behavior — but warns that leveraging Bitcoin through bank credit could amplify volatility, citing past crypto-lending failures.
