Metaplanet Moves 1,350 BTC Worth $108M to Coinbase Prime

Corporate treasury entity Metaplanet transferred 1,350 Bitcoin (BTC), valued at approximately $108 million, to Coinbase Prime across six transactions on August 28. On-chain data revealed that the largest single transaction within the batch totaled 771 BTC, worth around $61.6 million. This marks the second notable deposit to Coinbase Prime within a three-day period, following an earlier 1,000 BTC transfer on August 25 valued at roughly $79.8 million. Despite the transfers sparking market speculation regarding potential liquidations, Metaplanet's aggregate holdings remain unchanged at 43,000 BTC, worth approximately $3.4 billion. Because Coinbase Prime provides institutional custody and financing services alongside exchange execution, large deposits do not necessarily signal imminent sell-offs. Metaplanet currently ranks as the third-largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally, positioned closely behind Twenty One Capital. The company has not officially commented on the purpose of the custodial movements.
