MetaMask Begins Emergency Exit of Ethereum Validators From Lido Following Security Breach
MetaMask Staking is conducting an emergency withdrawal of customer-linked Ethereum validators from Lido following an infrastructure security breach. Consensys confirmed user wallets face no immediate threat, as the undisclosed vulnerability was restricted to a segment of its staking validator infrastructure. According to Lido Finance developer Will Shannon, affected validators are targeted to complete their exits by October 7. The withdrawn Ether will gradually return to Lido, but due to Ethereum's entry queue dynamics, the complete cycle of exit, withdrawal, and re-entry could take approximately 45 days.
