Meta Launches Muse AI Shopping Connectors as Amazon Blocks Agent Over Policy Violations

Meta Platforms has introduced automated retail search and checkout features for its Muse AI agent, securing partnerships with retailers including Walmart, Gap, and Shopify while capturing transaction fees. Payments are processed through partners such as Shopify's Shop Pay, PayPal, and Stripe's Link. However, Amazon has pushed back by blocking Muse from crawling its website and completing purchases, citing terms-of-service violations regarding scraping and credential storage. Muse has accumulated more than 5 million mobile downloads since its September 8 debut, though adoption faces privacy concerns.
