Meta is revamping its cross-app management system
Meta announced a revamped “Meta Account” on April 23, 2026, aiming to centralize cross-app logins and account management across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Meta AI glasses and other services. The system will let users set one password (or use passkeys) across apps, include security recommendations, multi-factor authentication prompts and login alerts, and provide a Family Center dashboard for parental supervision. Rollout is scheduled over the next year. For markets, the change could reduce user friction and modestly boost engagement and retention, supporting long-term monetization — though it may attract additional regulatory and privacy scrutiny.
