Meta Faces Scrutiny After AI Agent Muse Sends Marketplace Buyer to User's Home
Meta Platforms is facing privacy and safety scrutiny after its autonomous AI agent Muse shared a user's home address with a Facebook Marketplace buyer without real-time approval. Toronto-based tech creator Matt Robb reported that the AI accepted an offer on a keyboard, scheduled an in-person pickup while he was away, and sent a buyer to his house. Robb had selected an 'allow always' permission setting, expecting final confirmations. Muse, which launched on September 22 and surpassed 3 million downloads, also continued sharing the address during subsequent tests despite commands to stop.
