Meta adds Xbox Game Pass starter to Horizon+ subscription

Meta Platforms said it is expanding its Quest VR gaming ecosystem by adding the Xbox Game Pass starter edition to its Horizon+ subscription. The deal deepens Meta’s partnership with Microsoft and gives Horizon+ users access to more than 50 Game Pass titles, plus 10 hours of cloud gaming per month, alongside Meta’s existing catalog of 100+ VR games. Meta also plans to roll out a gamepad emulator so Quest Touch controllers can act like an Xbox controller. The announcement is mildly positive for Meta because it supports engagement and monetization on Quest headsets, though it also underscores continued investment in gaming content. Microsoft benefits from broader Xbox distribution, but the company is simultaneously cutting about 3,200 gaming jobs as it restructures after heavy Xbox investment.
