Massachusetts Lawmakers Urge FAA to Review Proposed Amazon Drone Hub Near Boston

Massachusetts Democratic lawmakers have formally requested that the Federal Aviation Administration conduct a comprehensive environmental review before permitting Amazon to launch a Prime Air drone delivery hub in Westborough, Massachusetts. Senators Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren, along with Representatives Jim McGovern and Lori Trahan, cited concerns over noise pollution, public safety, health hazards, and privacy. The move follows a September 28 lawsuit by 15 states and a Texas county challenging the FAA's July policy exempting qualifying operators from site-specific reviews. The hub model assumes an average of 1,150 daily deliveries below 400 feet.
