Markets Fall From Record Highs as Alphabet Reignites AI Spending Fears

Markets dipped from record highs after Alphabet (GOOG.OQ) said it would issue $80 billion of equity to finance AI buildout, reviving investor concern about big-tech capital spending. Futures for the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq all turned lower (Dow futures down ~0.2%, S&P and Nasdaq down ~0.1%), ending a recent streak of record closes. Oil slid on hopes for U.S.–Iran peace talks (Brent ~$94.31, WTI ~$91.54), the dollar edged down and the 10‑year Treasury yield ticked lower to about 4.44%. Crypto prices were weaker (Bitcoin near $69.7k). Overall tone: near‑term risk‑off as investors reassess tech capital intensity and funding moves.
