Lightning Labs Launches Wavelength Toolkit for Autonomous AI Bitcoin Payments

Lightning Labs has officially launched its Wavelength payment toolkit on the Bitcoin mainnet for all users, enabling artificial intelligence agents to autonomously send and receive Bitcoin via the Lightning Network and L402 protocol. The self-custodial framework lets AI agents pay API fees, purchase data, and conduct machine-to-machine micropayments without per-transaction human authorization or the need to operate dedicated nodes. Currently in alpha, each account has an initial balance limit of 300,000 satoshis and incurs a 0.25% service fee alongside standard routing fees. Future iterations plan to introduce stablecoin payment support.
