Ledger Exploit Wallets Wash Nearly 3,000 ETH Through Tornado Cash and Zcash

Perpetrators behind the Ledger distributor supply-chain security breach have routed nearly 3,000 Ether through privacy protocols, including Tornado Cash and Zcash pools, before converting assets into USD Coin. The multi-step laundering follows an initial transfer of 430.2 Ether and stablecoin swaps triggered by Tether freezing roughly $10 million in compromised USDT. Despite transferring 2,990.3 Ether worth $7.45 million, the attackers' wallets still retain approximately $38.6 million in Ether and $16.9 million in Bitcoin, alongside $2.85 million in USDC that remains exposed to potential freezing.
