Kraken Bitcoin Vault Pulls $30M Deposits in 10 Hours

Kraken’s Bitcoin Vault has rapidly attracted roughly $30 million in BTC deposits from 4,000 wallets in its first 10 hours since the May 27 launch. The product builds directly on Stacks’ May 20 whitepaper, which introduced a pure BTC-in/BTC-out staking model using Proof of Transfer infrastructure. Funds are routed via Veda and Sentora into DeFi protocols including Aave, Morpho and Tydro, delivering up to 2.5% APY in BTC while preserving price exposure. Kraken’s broader DeFi Earn suite now exceeds $240 million, underscoring rising institutional demand for native BTC yield products. The vault charges a 25% performance fee, requires a 0.00006 BTC minimum, and imposes a five-day withdrawal window.
