Korean AI Startup AiBiz Cuts Semiconductor Defects with GPU-Free AI, Powered by AMD EPYC CPUs

AiBiz says its DutchBoy industrial AI platform can detect semiconductor wafer defects in real time using AMD EPYC CPUs alone, avoiding GPUs while improving factory-floor inference performance. The company claims a 30% inference boost versus its prior Intel CPUs and says the system can lift chip yields by 3% to 5%, potentially saving foundries up to $100 million annually. The solution is already deployed at Samsung plants in Korea and China, with expansion planned to OSAT facilities, LG Innotek, and eventually other major chipmakers such as Hynix, Intel, and Micron.
