Korea Investment, OKX Seal Digital Alliance as Bitcoin Falls Below 100M Won
South Korea’s institutional push into crypto infrastructure culminated on June 4 with a major alliance between Korea Investment & Securities, Coinone, OKX and Com2uS to develop tokenized securities and cross-border products. The partnership follows a wave of bank and conglomerate investments totaling over $1.5 billion into Upbit parent Dunamu and Coinone during May, even as retail trading volumes on Upbit and Bithumb plunged more than 40%. Bitcoin’s slide below the 100 million won psychological level on Upbit for the first time since November 2024 underscored cooling retail sentiment amid the deepening traditional-finance integration.
