JPMorgan Pushes Crypto Expansion as Bitcoin Holds Institutional Lead

As of May 22, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon highlighted AI-driven job shifts while accelerating the bank’s crypto and tokenization efforts, including a new Ethereum-based fund filing. The move follows JPMorgan’s May 19-20 research showing Bitcoin materially outperforming Ethereum since the October 2025 deleveraging. Spot Bitcoin ETFs have recovered roughly two-thirds of outflows versus one-third for ether ETFs, with CME futures data indicating institutional BTC positioning nearly restored to pre-selloff peaks. The bank projects Strategy could purchase up to $30 billion of Bitcoin in 2026 and warns Ethereum needs a major network revival to close the gap.
