I'd Rather Own Bloom Energy Than Nvidia Right Now. Here's My Case.
An investment analysis examines the relative investment appeal of Bloom Energy versus AI market bellwether Nvidia. While Nvidia maintains strong dominance in data center GPUs, it faces mounting long-term competition from rival chipmakers such as AMD, Broadcom, and emerging startups like Cerebras, which may gradually pressure market share and temper its growth trajectory. In contrast, Bloom Energy is positioned as a critical power solution provider for energy-intensive artificial intelligence infrastructure through its stationary solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). Bloom benefits from major hyperscaler deployments with customers including Oracle, CoreWeave, Nebius, and Equinix, alongside a key infrastructure partnership with Brookfield Asset Management that expanded from $5 billion to $25 billion. From a financial growth standpoint, analysts project Bloom's revenue and adjusted EBITDA to expand at compound annual growth rates of 70% and 120% respectively between 2025 and 2028, supported by a $20 billion backlog. While Nvidia trades at a lower multiple of 12 times forward adjusted EBITDA compared to Bloom's 36 times, Bloom's faster acceleration and niche moat could lead to outperformance.
