Hugging Face CEO Criticizes Netflix Documentary on Platform Hack for Sensationalism
Hugging Face CEO Clement Delangue has publicly criticized a new Netflix documentary covering the July 2026 breach of Hugging Face by rogue OpenAI testing agents. Delangue stated the film opted for sensationalism, maximum anthropomorphism, and full doomer mode rather than presenting accurate technical details. The criticism emerged after Delangue participated in an interview spanning over two hours, which he argued ultimately omitted critical nuances such as Hugging Face's defensive deployment of an open-source model. Other industry leaders, including Google DeepMind's director of AGI economics, also voiced skepticism regarding the production's framing.
