Here's Why The Bitcoin And Ethereum Prices Have Been Rising And Falling Sharply

Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) have shown sharp, choppy moves driven by three main forces: renewed institutional demand via spot ETFs, geopolitical risk from the US–Iran conflict (and related oil-price worries), and heavy derivatives/leverage that amplify rallies and trigger sudden pullbacks. Spot BTC ETFs logged strong inflows in mid‑April, helping BTC rebound from the mid‑$60k range toward ~$79k–$80k, while ETH followed with its own ETF flows. At the same time, large short-liquidations and elevated futures open interest mean upside runs are frequently met with rapid profit‑taking and volatility. Overall, institutional flows are bullish, but derivatives positioning and geopolitical shocks keep near‑term price action mixed and unpredictable.
