Hawkish Fed Sends Gold to Third Weekly Loss at $4,182

Gold is tracking its third straight weekly decline, with spot prices falling to $4,181.86/oz after the Federal Reserve’s hawkish June 18 guidance erased gains from the U.S.-Iran peace framework. The metal had dropped to a six-month low near $4,024 on June 11 following hotter CPI data, then surged more than 1% to $4,365 on June 15 as the interim accord cut December rate-hike odds to 58%. Prices reversed sharply once nine of 19 Fed officials signaled at least one 2026 hike, lifting yields and the dollar and wiping out most of the week’s advance.
