Grayscale Reports Bitcoin Volatility Falls to 43%, Aligning With S&P 500 Equities

Bitcoin's one-year realized volatility has dropped to 43%, down from 81% five years ago and below its 10-year average of 64%, according to Grayscale Research. The report notes Bitcoin's volatility now sits within the range of S&P 500 equities, with sources indicating its swings are lower than 19%—and up to 57%—of index members. Grayscale attributes the decline to deeper liquidity, institutional adoption, and regulated spot ETFs. As Bitcoin traded near $82,485, about 35% below its peak of $126,080, separate research by Fidelity showed a record correlation above 0.6 with 10-year US Treasury real yields.
