Google's AI Mode can now track flight prices, help book hotels, and more
Google has announced major upgrades to its conversational AI Mode, introducing new capabilities designed to function as an end-to-end AI travel agent. Users can now utilize AI Mode to track flight prices across more than 300 airlines and travel websites, receiving email alerts when prices change. The flight tracking capability is launching across more than 180 countries, significantly broadening Google's global utility in travel commerce. In addition to flight tracking, Google is rolling out conversational hotel discovery and direct booking in the United States in English. The booking flow integrates with major industry partners, including Booking.com, Expedia, Marriott International, and Hilton, enabling users to finalize reservations seamlessly using Google Pay. AI Mode has also added global support for checking flight and hotel costs using frequent flyer miles or points. These enhancements position Alphabet to capture higher-intent travel queries and monetize conversational search through integrated booking and payment flows. By deepening integrations with major online travel agencies and hotel brands, Google strengthens its ecosystem against competing generative AI assistants while expanding consumer engagement.
