Google Tests Gemini AI Feature to Place Phone Calls to Businesses for Users

Alphabet's Google has introduced an experimental feature called "Call for Me" that lets its Gemini artificial intelligence place phone calls to businesses on behalf of users. The tool autonomously performs tasks such as checking retail inventory, booking reservations, and rescheduling appointments. It is initially rolling out in the United States to Pixel 11 owners who hold a paid Gemini subscription and run the beta version of Google's Phone app for Android. The feature places calls from the user's phone number, navigates automated menus, and provides live transcripts with manual override options.
