Google, Meta, and U.S. Partner With Biohub on $1.8 Billion AI Biology Initiative
Google, Meta, and the U.S. government have joined the nonprofit Biohub in a $1.8 billion initiative to train artificial intelligence models for biological research and drug discovery. Google DeepMind, Meta, and Isomorphic Labs are collectively contributing $300 million to the project, while the U.S. Department of Energy provides over $500 million over five years alongside contributions from the National Institutes of Health. The partnership expands upon a $500 million Biohub investment from April and grants commercial partners exclusive data access before datasets are publicly released as open scientific resources.
