Google Launches Fitbit Edge Wearable and Expands Digital Health Partnerships
Alphabet's Google has launched the Fitbit Edge fitness tracker starting at $179.99, replacing the Fitbit Charge 6 to expand its wearable portfolio and boost subscription revenue. The device features an OLED display, a replaceable battery, up to a seven-day battery life, and Gemini-powered Google Health Coach integration. Pre-orders have opened ahead of an October 27 retail rollout. Alongside the hardware, Google introduced expanded digital health data-sharing partnerships with platforms including Abbott, Flo Health, and MyFitnessPal, while offering buyers a three-month trial of its $10-per-month Google Health Premium service.
