Google & Apple hunt for crypto talent

Major tech corporations Google and Apple are actively expanding their digital-asset initiatives by recruiting specialized talent for crypto, stablecoin, and tokenization projects. Google Cloud is seeking an architect in Hong Kong to support protocol foundations, exchanges, and custodians with real-world asset (RWA) tokenization across the Asia-Pacific region. Meanwhile, Apple is looking to fill an Apple Pay strategy lead role targeted at integrating digital asset and peer-to-peer payment features across Apple Card and Apple Cash, aligning with similar moves by rivals such as Samsung. The broader crypto market update also highlighted volume controversy surrounding Kalshi's newly launched crypto perpetual futures, where an Ether perpetual contract recorded $539 million in 24-hour volume against only $3.1 million in open interest, prompting wash trading allegations. In addition, MicroStrategy resumed its Bitcoin acquisition strategy, purchasing 950 BTC for $75.7 million using its dollar cash reserves, raising its total holdings to 846,000 BTC acquired for an aggregate of $63.81 billion.
