Google, Amazon, Meta & Microsoft could add up to 34 gigawatts of compute by 2027: MS
Analysts estimate the major hyperscalers—Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Meta and Microsoft—could add as much as 34 gigawatts of compute capacity by 2027. Google is forecast to add the most in 2027 (roughly 7 GW). Firms’ capex timing differs: more than half of Amazon, Microsoft and Meta’s 2026 spending is expected to come online in 2027+, while only about 10% of Google’s 2026 capex will. The buildout implies sustained demand for data-center infrastructure, servers, chips and power/networking equipment, supporting suppliers, data-center REITs and cloud-related equities. Market participants may re-rate hardware and infrastructure suppliers and anticipate extended capex-driven revenue for chipmakers and cloud-service vendors.
