Goldman Sachs Follows Morgan Stanley as Latest to Prep Bitcoin ETF
Goldman Sachs filed with the SEC to launch the Goldman Sachs Bitcoin Premium Income ETF, a fund that would allocate to spot bitcoin exposures and sell options to generate income. The move follows Morgan Stanley’s recent spot Bitcoin ETF and signals continued bank-backed ETF competition for advisor distribution. The product targets income-seeking, older high-net-worth clients who prefer yield over pure upside, and could accelerate inflows if wirehouses distribute it broadly. Morningstar data shows derivative-income ETFs hauled in $17 billion in Q1 2026 and nearly $58 billion over 12 months, while digital-asset ETFs have drawn $133 million year-to-date through March but more than $40 billion over 12 months. The fund has no disclosed ticker or fees yet and may not appeal to crypto purists seeking full upside.
