Gold rises toward $4,175 as Fed Chair Warsh remarks temper October hike expectations

Spot gold climbed 0.2% to $4,174.54 an ounce, and U.S. gold futures advanced 0.4% to $4,195.70, supported by falling bond yields and scaled-back expectations of an immediate Federal Reserve rate increase. Market participants reassessed policy tightening odds following comments by Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, with the CME FedWatch Tool showing an 83.9% probability of rates remaining unchanged in October and an implied hike chance falling to 16%. Lower yields on U.S. Treasuries and persistent geopolitical tensions provided additional safe-haven support, while December rate hike odds held near 92%.
