Five German Sparkassen Launch Crypto Trading Powered by DekaBank

Five German savings banks have officially launched Bitcoin and cryptocurrency trading within their banking apps through DekaBank. The service, titled 'Krypto – powered by Deka', allows retail customers to trade assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Solana, and Polygon without external brokerages. Transactions feature a fixed €0.99 fee alongside trading spreads, with Börse Stuttgart executing trades and DekaBank managing custody. Sparkassen, Germany's largest banking network with around 370 institutions, announced the initiative on Monday. Over 230 savings banks have expressed interest, aiming for broad German coverage by the first half of 2027.
