GBP/USD Extends Slide Below 1.3200 on Third Day of Losses

GBP/USD prolonged its downtrend on June 19, falling below 1.3200 to a fresh low since early April after three consecutive sessions of declines. The move followed the June 18 BoE hold at 3.75% in a 7-2 vote and the Federal Reserve’s hawkish shift that removed forward guidance and raised the odds of further tightening. Softer UK May CPI at 2.8% had already trimmed BoE hike bets, while the stronger dollar pushed the pair through 1.3262 support to 1.3232. Markets now price limited near-term BoE tightening, leaving sterling exposed unless policy signals turn more supportive.
