Foreign firms eye Hong Kong listings as IPO rebound broadens

Hong Kong’s IPO market is drawing renewed foreign interest as about 10 international companies from Indonesia, South Korea, Singapore and elsewhere have filed or are exploring Hong Kong listings in 2026. While still far smaller than domestic issuance (110 Chinese/HK firms raised $36.4bn in 2025), the inbound pipeline—covering tech, consumer and financials and including potential dual-listings—could make 2026 the city’s best year for international debuts since 2020. High-profile potential deals (eg. Syngenta’s reported up-to-$10bn plan) and LSEG data showing a wider 2026 foreign pipeline bolster HKEX’s appeal, broaden investor reach beyond China-focused issuers, and may further attract offshore capital and sector diversity (biotech, AI, mining). The trend supports Hong Kong’s standing as a top IPO venue and could increase listings, liquidity and international investor flows into the market.
