FCC Approves Amazon Leo's $11.57 Billion Acquisition of Globalstar

The Federal Communications Commission has approved Amazon Leo's $11.57 billion acquisition of satellite communications provider Globalstar, clearing the primary regulatory hurdle for the transaction. Following the clearance, Amazon shares gained more than 2% toward $254.41. The deal integrates Globalstar's fleet of 24 operational satellites into Amazon's Leo constellation, which has launched over 200 to 300 satellites since April 2025. The acquisition supports Amazon's long-term plan to deploy roughly 3,200 satellites in low Earth orbit by 2029.
