FCA Flags Unauthorized Crypto Sponsors at Premier League Clubs as BTC Drops to $65,500

On June 4 the FCA escalated warnings to Premier League clubs, explicitly naming Manchester City’s OKX partner as unauthorized while clearing Tottenham’s Kraken via its parent Payward. The notice follows coordinated raids on eight London P2P sites and earlier letters sent June 3 that cited fan losses, AML exposure and reputational risk. Bitcoin weakened further amid the pressure, sliding to roughly $65,500 after 10–10,000 BTC holders sold 24,602 BTC in the prior week. Institutional accumulation continued, however, with Strive adding 2,500 BTC to reach 19,000 BTC (~$1.3 bn) holdings. The mixed signals underscore short-term regulatory headwinds against persistent buy-side demand.
