Fastly stock surges on Meta Muse traffic analysis

Shares of Fastly experienced a sharp rally, gaining 16.5% after independent network traffic analysis revealed that the edge cloud platform manages a substantial portion of infrastructure traffic for Meta Platforms' Muse AI assistant. The study, conducted by research account Odd Diligence across 738 controlled tests, indicated that Fastly accounts for 29.3% of Meta Muse's overall traffic, compared to 37.0% directed to Cloudflare, 19.4% handled internally by Meta, and 14.4% routed through Amazon Web Services (AWS). Crucially, Fastly handled 100% of tested traffic requiring active browser navigation, such as accessing menus or making online appointments, while Cloudflare processed API and curl-based requests. General search traffic was dispersed across all four infrastructure providers. Prior to the report, market analysts had predominantly focused on Cloudflare's technical integration with Meta, largely overlooking Fastly's substantial role. The revelation highlights growing commercial demand for specialized edge compute and content delivery networks as major hyperscalers expand browser-interacting AI agents.
