Eurozone October Manufacturing PMI Eases to 52.7 as Cost Pressures Accelerate

Eurozone manufacturing growth moderated in October 2026, with the final manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index easing to 52.7 from 52.9 in September, though it beat the preliminary reading of 52.4. The manufacturing output index fell to a four-month low of 52.8 from 53.6, while export demand grew at its fastest pace in over four-and-a-half years. Performance diverged across member states as Germany's PMI rose to 54.2 from 53.9, while France contracted to 49.5 and Italy also shrank. Supply strains widened as input cost inflation accelerated to its highest level since May.
