Eurozone Manufacturing PMI Rises to 52.9 in September, Hitting 52-Month High

Eurozone factory activity expanded at its fastest pace in 52 months in September, as the final Manufacturing PMI was revised up to 52.9 from a preliminary 52.7 and August's 52.7. The Output Index advanced to a 55-month peak of 53.6, with all eight surveyed euro area economies recording growth above 50.0 for the first time in over four years. Strong demand for investment goods linked to AI infrastructure and defence drove new orders to their fastest expansion since March 2022, prompting factories to add jobs after three years of cuts while input and output price inflation re-accelerated.
