EUR/USD rises to 1.1455 as dollar slumps on weak U.S. payrolls

EUR/USD advanced to 1.1455 on July 3 as the U.S. dollar weakened further after June payrolls came in far below expectations. The soft 57,000 jobs print, accompanied by 74,000 downward revisions to prior months, reinforced views that the Fed has finished tightening and triggered broad dollar selling. The move extended the dollar-driven gains seen on July 2 when GBP/USD first rallied to 1.3359 on the initial NFP reaction. Attention now shifts to Fed speakers and the July 14 CPI release for further direction on EUR/USD.
