EU Safety Group Urges Rejection of Tesla FSD Over Speed Offset Feature

The European Transport Safety Council (ETSC) has urged European Union member states to block approval of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system due to safety concerns over its speed offset capability. The feature allows vehicles to exceed detected speed limits by up to 50%, which the ETSC argues lacks required United Nations Economic Commission exemptions. Although Dutch regulator RDW approved FSD in April followed by Belgium, growing opposition from nations including Sweden, France, and the Czech Republic has delayed an EU-wide approval vote from October until at least December.
