EU car sales jump 11% in March; Tesla, BYD log strong gains- ACEA

European new car registrations rose 11.1% year‑on‑year in March to 1.58 million units, driven by strong electric and hybrid demand, ACEA data showed. Battery EVs surged 41.7% and hybrids 15.3%, while petrol registrations fell 10.2%. Tesla’s European registrations jumped 84.3% to 52,600 vehicles and Chinese rival BYD’s rose 147.6% to 37,580, underscoring accelerating EV adoption. Hybrids held a 38.6% share in Q1, BEVs 19.4% and petrol 22.6%.
