Ethereum Staking Hits Record 43.8 Million ETH as Yields Drop to 2.63%

Ethereum staking reached a record 43.8 million ETH by the end of the third quarter of 2026, locking up 35.9% of its circulating supply, according to Bitwise. However, gross annualized staking yields slipped to 2.63% from 2.81% in the prior quarter as rewards spread across a larger pool, with over 96% of yield derived from new token issuance. The milestone followed net quarterly inflows of 1.99 million ETH, extending positive deposit flows to six straight quarters, up from 36.3 million ETH staked early in the year. Meanwhile, Ethereum network revenue fell to $40.6 million from $63 million in Q2.
