Ethereum Schedules Oct. 6 Sepolia Testnet Fork for Glamsterdam Upgrade Ahead of Q4 Launch

Ethereum core developers have scheduled the Sepolia testnet hard fork for the Glamsterdam upgrade on Oct. 6, 2026, targeting an activation time of 13:53:36 UTC at epoch 353,024. The testnet deployment replaces an earlier proposed late September timeline and prepares the network for an anticipated mainnet launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. Glamsterdam combines the Gloas consensus layer and Amsterdam execution layer, introducing parallel transaction processing through Block-Level Access Lists (EIP-7928) and encapsulated/enshrined proposer-builder separation to improve throughput and curb database bloat.
