Ethereum Researcher Proposes Recursive Proof System for Constant-Time Node Synchronization

Ethereum Foundation researcher frisitano has proposed a recursive execution-chain proof draft enabling nodes to synchronize the execution layer in constant time. The design allows nodes to verify transaction execution from a weak-subjectivity checkpoint to the chain head using a single cryptographic proof, bypassing the need to replay extensive historical execution data. The framework links proofs directly to beacon-chain state, leveraging EIP-7732 envelope processors for guest programs and broadcasting across Ethereum's gossip network. The proposal remains in draft form and is undergoing community review to evaluate its impact on decentralization.
