Ethereum Foundation Unveils Kohaku Privacy SDK and Reference Wallet

The Ethereum Foundation launched Kohaku, an open-source SDK and reference wallet aimed at embedding transaction privacy directly into mainstream crypto wallets. Features include stealth addresses, private transfers, and integrations with Railgun, Privacy Pools, and Tornado Cash. The release followed Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin's disclosure that he uses the experimental command-line interface tool kohaku-cli for private payments to avoid web interface security dependencies. A live demonstration involving Buterin, EF researchers, and Ambire Wallet is planned for Devcon, while protocol-level privacy updates such as EIP-8141 are targeted for the Hegotá network upgrade.
