Ethereum Foundation Backs Kohaku SDK to Introduce Default Privacy Across Wallets

The Ethereum Foundation is backing default wallet privacy protections through the Kohaku open-source software development kit, arguing that user privacy and operational security must be addressed simultaneously following recent onchain exploits. The initiative, supported by a 47-person privacy cluster, combines protocols including Railgun, Privacy Pools, and Tornado Cash alongside post-quantum accounts and light clients. Wallet provider Ambire has tested the integration for several months ahead of a planned live mainnet deployment. A live Ethereum mainnet demonstration led by Vitalik Buterin and Nicolas Consigny is scheduled for Devcon on November 3.
